Tips for perfect Thanksgiving tablescapes

November 10, 2016

Believe it or not, Thanksgiving is right around the corner. Many dinner hosts, including myself, will look to create the perfect tablescapes around which family and friends will feast. Aside from painting my abstract artwork, I love fancying up my house for the holidays. So, to make your table decorating process much easier than basting the turkey, here are a few things I’ve learned over the years.

Pick colors you love and that relate to Thanksgiving, but add in other hues that blend well to add depth. For example, bring excitement by adding in colorful napkins that match the plates or chargers you’re using for the meal. Oftentimes, the accents I choose tie in nicely with pieces of my art that are hanging on my walls.

No need to head to the store to buy loads of décor! You can likely find items around your house than can double as table decorations. Gather interesting things like great spice candles to incorporate into your table setting. They’re sure to be pleasing to not only the look of the table, but for the aroma, too!

Get creative
Have a lot of room in the center of your table? Experiment with different things to create a unique centerpiece. I simply grabbed three ferns already in my house and topped them with two wreaths. To tie everything together, I added in flowers that matched the napkins and chargers.
