Sue Layman Designs Hosts Successful Fundraiser for Ballet Memphis
Aside from creating beautiful pieces of art, Sue enjoys giving back to the community. One of her favorite organizations is Ballet Memphis, a group that has created, presented and taught the art of dance for more than 25 years, and Sue recently had the opportunity to host a fundraiser for the organization during a special presentation of her art at eighty3 food & drink in Downtown Memphis.
The downtown restaurant hosts a program called the Memphis Artists Spotlight, which offers local artists the opportunity to sell and showcase their work inside eighty3. On Nov. 11, Sue was the featured artist, and she capitalized on the opportunity to benefit Ballet Memphis. All dinner proceeds and a portion of the art sales were donated to the organization.
At the reception, guests viewed gorgeous new pieces created specifically for this event, as well as additional one-of-a-kind pieces by Sue, while enjoying complimentary appetizers, beer and wine. Thank you to eighty3, 4Memphis and Memphis Ballet for helping us bring Memphis art to light while raising money for a great cause!
Some of the artwork featured during the event are still hanging in eighty3 and are available for purchase. If you would like to view more of Sue’s latest abstract art pieces, like, “Love Walk” pictured below, please call 901-409-7870 to set up an appointment to visit the art gallery.
